Using Social Networking To Build Readership To Your Business Blog
Theses days, the biggest move in internet marketing is toward social networking. Obviously, with the advent of the internet, businesses have been much more able to get their products and services in front of more people, and social networking sites are the best medium by which to gain exposure to an even greater number of potential subscribers and buyers.
For those of you who are still unfamiliar with social networking online, I’ll break it down for you. All it really is is communication with others online through certain platforms or services.
Now, it is a concept in itself to get social networking to work for you from a marketing standpoint, and there are some key elements involved. When you incorporate these elements in your social networking practices, your business traffic should increase, and of course, more visitors means more sales.
To begin with, you need to figure out the most popular social network sites for the time being and join them. Facebook and Twitter are the biggest, with Delicious, Digg, and Stumble Upon not too far off, all of which have millions of people participating regularly throughout the globe.
Clearly, you’re not going to be able to (or want to) reach every one of them, just your target market. In other words, you need to find as many people as you can that might actually be interested in what you are selling.
Okay, so now you have to know who those people are that will want what you have. Are they home business folks, teachers, martial artists, etc? Once you figure out just who those people are, start looking for them and adding them as a friend or yourself as one of their followers.
It can be helpful if you already know someone in the target market that’s a friend (it can be one you’ve added and communicated with a couple of times) who can introduce you to people in that market. Over time, this process sort of happens automatically.
Something you’ll notice about social networks is that there are millions of people involved. You will have people adding you to their networks that will never read what you write or buy what you sell, but they might be friends with someone who will.
What you don’t want, though, is to just add people for the sake of adding people. It doesn’t help to have a huge list of followers. They need to be the right followers. The idea is to build relationships with these people so that they can come to trust you and visit your sites and blogs. If all you want is a large number of followers, then that’s all you’ll ever have. So be sure to interact and add value to others’ experience.
