Your best bet for increasing loyalty and sales using your blog is through building an email list. This is a list of names and emails that you can use to maintain contact with your readers and sell them products and services that they can use as time goes by.

When you’re putting your business blog together, you should have an opt-in form on your page. There are many ways of making this happen based on the blogging platform you use. Some may use plugins, others just let you paste a code into your blog.

Your list grows slowly, one person at a time. But that doesn’t matter. Whether you have one subscriber or 10,000, you send them information they can use right away so that they know they are just as important as the next person. This helps them and you, so be sure you send information and ads that will benefit them.

You never want to send email to your readers simply for the sake of sending them something.

The point here is to keep in contact with your readers so that they will continue to return to your site. So you have to provide value to your readers in order for them to have an incentive to keep going back.

You should also offer your readers something for free for signing up to your newsletter on your blog. The probability is that unless you are brand new to internet marketing, you have some helpful ebooks or software that you can give them as a way to say “Thank you” for signing up to your list. Finding something to give away, like a set of PLR videos or something is very easy, but I’ll touch on that in another post.

If you can offer something of value as a show of appreciation, then they are more likely to return the favor by signing up.

There are plenty of mail management services out there that can handle everything from a list of 100 to a huge, 100,000 subscriber management and shopping cart system. If you’re just now setting this all up, then obviously you want to start with something more appropriate for your needs. You can always upgrade later, especially since these services become considerably more expensive as the complexity of the service increases.

If you already manage a business blog and aren’t using email management, you need to. You cannot imagine the difference it makes to be able to keep in contact with your readers as you continue to market your business. So if you aren’t already doing this, a great service to use (the one I use) is Get Response. There are a few that you can use out there, and Get Response and Aweber are the #1 and #2 options. Just use the basic option for whichever you choose.

Once you manage a company blog, it’s imperative to focus
on your target market as they are possible
customers for your venture. They are your bread and
butter. So how do you focus your small business blog to your
target market?

Start with the title of your blog. When you ready a
commercial blog for the first time, the blogging service
will need a title for your blog. Deliberately think about
what this ought to be. Must it be the title of your
company (i.e. The Real Good Life Co. Blog)?

It can vary based on the kind of operation you have since you
absolutely don’t need for your blog handle to be too cheesy.
nor would you intend for it to be so lengthy that nobody can
remember the exact name, so decide on your blog handle
very deliberately.

If you market a certain product, say surf boards, you may perhaps
use something fun, like "Surf With Steve", or something to
that effect.

A really good way to generate an appropriate handle for your
blog which your target market can easily come across as they
perform a search, is to perform your own search. Perform a keyword
search to figure out how many hits specific expressions get which are relevant to your niche.

Then work those expressions into the handle of your
blog.  A further way to focus your commercial blog to your
target audience is to stick with subjects which are relevant to
your company.

As readers visit your blog, they are expecting to
get content relating to the services you offer and
product info. Don’t shortchange them by writing about
things unrelated to your niche.

They will most likely leave and never return.

Additionally, make certain ads placed on your commercial blog
are pertinent to your operation. You won’t earn any cash
if you have links promoting surf boards when you market
camping gear.

Anyway, your readers will get the idea you are simply
attempting to get paid as opposed to actually serving them,
which really is the true purpose of your business blog.

While creating your small business blog, constancy is the answer to keeping readers revisiting time and again. Your readers will grow to know you by your brand, your communication technique and even the colors and fonts you use. Therefore, maintaining constancy all through your blog is something you should intend to make a practice of. I talk about this and other great ways to actually create and maintain a successful blog in my FREE Business Blogging Secrets report.

Prior to creating your blog, if you haven’t done so already, think about which colors and font styles you are planning on using. You should intend for your small business blog to flow with your small business website, so using colors and styles from there would be your best option.

If you don’t maintain a website for your company, then use colors and styles in your logo or from something that customers should recognize as your company. Plus, if you have a logo for your company, be certain to use it on your small business blog.

If you already have a small business blog up and running, but feel it is "noisy" or there are too many colors and font choices, pick 2 to 3 colors to make use of all through and then pick out just one or two font styles at the most. Having too many colors and fonts can appear muddled and your readers will soon lose interest since they will feel overwhelmed by all the busy-ness.

Constancy is not simply in the look of your blog, but in the content as well. While you are creating posts for your small business blog, they need to be geared toyour products, services and your small business. Your communication method ought to constantly be constant.

It’s all right to place a bit of personal flair in your posts, but the key content must be professional. If you use a ghostwriter to compose your blog content, be certain to use just one or two, otherwise you can wind up with too many communication styles and your readers might pick up on the fact you employ ghostwriters.

There is nothing bad about using a ghostwriter, just be sure that they are consistent and create the kind of content you would if you were really writing it yourself.

When you are constant on your small business blog, your customers should grow to trust you since constancy shows reliability, and once your readers know they can rely on you, they should purchase from you.
