Let’s face it. Internet marketing is confusing. As if designing your website to rank well and getting other websites linked to it wasn’t enough, now you have to factor Web 2.0 and all that entails into your internet marketing plan. You’ve got blogging, social networking, podcasting and videos. You could spend all your time marketing your business instead of actually running your business!

I’ll be honest with you, it even drives me nuts and I’m an internet marketing consultant! But, I was explaining internet marketing to a new client the other day and it all became quite clear. Here’s what it boils down to.

The goal of internet marketing is ultimately to get people to buy you have to sell. Whether that’s a physical product, an information product or a service, it doesn’t matter.

There are two major areas that you to focus your attention to increase internet sales; drive more traffic to your website and convert that traffic to customers by giving them what they want.

This sounds pretty basic but once you get caught up in all the ways you can market your business online, you can easily lose sight of your goal. We tend to focus on statistics like: how high my website ranks when using certain key words, or how many individual visitors were there last month, or the number of people that signed up for my newsletter or blog feed. But you know what? None of those things are the main goal. They might contribute to your bottom line but they are NOT your goal.

Would you believe there are only two things you need to do to make online sales? First get people to your website. Second, give your visitors what they want. That’s it! So how do you do those two things?

The way you drive traffic to your website can be done in two ways.

1. You have an individual who needs what you have to sell, so basically they need you before you need them. They have a problem which they recognize and they’re seeking a solution which you have to offer. They go to a search engine like Google or Yahoo, type in a key phrase and as a result they find your website. This is the way we tend to assume all our customers find us.

2. Your customer may be aware that they have a potential problem but aren’t really looking for a solution. They hear about your company in an article, blog, forum, podcast, video, social media or social networking website and just because they are very interested in what they hear about you, they take a visit to your website.

When people arrive at your website it’s time to make certain you can give them what they want. It’s a lot of work to get customers to your website and you want to make certain that you’re fully capable of giving them what they are looking for. If you don’t give them what they want, you’ve wasted a tremendous amount of time and money. That’s why a customer centric website is crucial to converting visitors to customers. It’s also the area that is most often overlooked and can cost you a lot of sales in the long run.

I’m not going to tell you what I think your website should say because I could write the most brilliant analysis of what needs to be on your website and the majority of you are going to tell yourself, “My website says that.” If your website isn’t getting the phone ringing or making sales, it doesn’t. It’s that simple.

Do you really want to know why all those visitors aren’t regular customers? Have a friend (who doesn’t owe you anything and will tell you the truth) look over your website. Then shut your mouth, stop fooling yourself into believing it’s the best it can be and change it!

That’s it. That’s all. The two things you need to know to do to sell your service online are to get people to your website and give them what they want. Now go do it!

Best Marketing Tools: Goober And The Talking Dog

Everyone loves Andy Griffith movies; or at least the people in that generation. This one is a classic. As far as that goes they all are! Each episode could be taught in a Sunday school class. They all have a lesson straight from the bible. When Goober thought he had a talking dog is the episode about deception. Oh, do we have examples of deceptions! You see Opie and the new kid on the block decided to trick Goober by tying a walkie talkie around his dog’s neck. Now when Goober and the dog were alone and Opie and the new kid on the block were in the bushes, they would transmit voices to the dog. So now Goober thought he had a talking dog. Well, anyway you know the rest of the story. The bottom line is do we have people that are deceiving us like Opie and the new kid did Goober. You better believe we do, especially in the internet marketing world. So I guess what I need to do is reveal just a few of those deceptions to you.

Deception #1: I think the biggest internet marketing deception out there is the one that internet marketers know how to sell anything online. Nothing could be further from the truth! I guess this came about through some marketers giving you the opinion they are experts on about any subject that has to do with marketing on the internet. They pass that untruth through implying or just not saying anything and letting their clients think they know all and can do all for their business.

Deception #2: Have you ever thought you were getting a product or service but in the final end it was not what you thought it was. It happens all the time in the online business world. Is this deliberately done by the owners? Well, I can’t say it is done in every case, but it sure does happen more now .They didn’t outright lie to you, but they didn’t tell the truth either. They left out critical details, and used words in a way that implied something entirely different from what they were really saying.

Deception #3: Some Buyers indicate that some sellers take their money and run, failing to disclose key details about the merchandise, or overstated the item’s condition. When these buyers try to connect with the seller they can’t be found. Be sure to check out whether you have good contact information before you buy an item. This technique is called creating a firewall around the seller so the buyer can’t contact them. The method is they will lead you around in a circle hoping that you will get tired and count it a loss.

Deception #4: Bogus resumes and made-up biographies, out-of-control plagiarism, and rampant fraud against consumers; It’s become an epidemic and many of the “big” names are involved. Watch out for these types of individuals. They pass themselves off as making a fortune and suggest you are going to as well. In the final end they tricked you and ran with your money. Another deception played out very well.

Let’s be truthful here. This article is certainly not written by an expert that has the answer to every question or every deception in the internet marketing world. I can not even say he is a master writer and knows alot about everything. I didn’t even write this article totally myself. I used a very handy article writing tool. This tool helps make me seem like an expert on topics when I really am not at all. And it is used to write articles, autoresponders, ezines, and forum post and more, and brand your name all over the internet. There you have it now; the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

In conclusion, It sure would be nice if everyone, rather than being deceitful like Opie and the new kid on the block, would just be honest like I am doing and reveal all. Oh, what a web we weave when we practice to deceive.

Power of Joint Venture Marketing

What is the fastest way to get clients without spending a lot of money on advertising? One word, referrals! Yes, its a proven fact that if you can get your existing clients to refer their friends, family, and work colleagues etc to come and have a massage with you AND get them to start referring also, your practice will grow much faster than using any other marketing method, and at little or no cost.

This is simply because a recommendation directly from a friend, family or colleague has far more weight
than the most elaborate advertising campaign that money can buy. It all comes down to trust. Before someone will climb on your massage table, they must have enough trust that you are professional, that you are good at what you do and that you will take good care of them.

So when a new client has a treatment with you and loves it (because you always give your best), that builds trust. Afterwards, if they talk to someone they know (who trusts them) about how great the treatment was that trust of you is transferred. This is what makes word of mouth marketing so powerful. On top of this, if you can give your clients incentives for referring people to you by starting your own Referral Rewards Program or Referral Appreciation Program, you can greatly speed up the process of getting clients into your businesses and onto your table. If you do not currently reward your clients for their referrals, you should definitely start!

Now if you are just starting out as a massage therapist, you might well be thinking, that is all well and good James but I do not have many (or any) clients yet, so how am I supposed to get referrals from clients I do not have? I hear you. Fortunately there is a solution. If you do not yet have many (or any) clients of your own, what you need to do is to network with other health practitioners and businesses that do.

Bottom line, we are surrounded by many other businesses/practitioners that already have hundreds, if not thousands of clients on their books that would no doubt be interested in receiving massage.

What we want is for these business owners / practitioners to give us access to their list of clients so we can attract as many of them as possible into our business and onto our table.

You are probably thinking, why on earth would anyone ever give us access to their clients? Well under normal circumstances they would not, but if the right approach is taken, you would be surprised at just how accommodating people can be.

What I am talking about here is Joint Ventures and while this has such a corporate sound to it, its really just businesses working together to create what I call win-win-win situations for everyone involved: your business, their business and their clients/customers.

So let me get right to the point and see how as massage therapists, we can specifically use the power of joint ventures to unlock the door to a steady stream of new clients.

Many of you will already know that one of my favourite Joint Venture methods is the Endorsed Offer. I have had great success using it here on the Gold Coast with Chiropractors, Naturopaths and Hairdressers.

Let me explain how it works.

The goal of this strategy is to get the Hairdresser (for example) to make an announcement to his/her list(s) of clients, endorsing your massage service.

The thing is, success in any business is built on solid relationships and the Hairdresser (or any suitable business for that matter) will only do this for us if endorsing us will make their relationship with their clients even stronger (and in the process make them look good!).

The way we can make this happen is by creating a win-win-win situation by offering a valuable FREE Gift that the Hairdresser can offer to his/her clients.

My favorite valuable gift to offer is a FREE 30 minute massage.

The Hairdresser gets to offer this to his/her list of clients, as a special thankyou for their support and you get the benefit of having highly targeted leads actually getting on YOUR table, which is exactly what you want!

Plus, his/her clients get a FREE massage! Its the ideal win-win-win situation!

Now if you are thinking that giving away FREE massage is a crazy idea, then you are not taking into consideration the potential Lifetime Value of the client.

Think about it for a moment, if the Hairdresser sends out your offer to 100 of his/her best clients and out of that 100, only 20 take you up on your offer, then thats 10 hours of your time and effort (20 x 30 min sessions) in massage for $0. That doesn’t sound good at all, does it?

However, if just 2 of these 20 become regular clients that book in for a $50 – 1 hour massage once per week, then that initial 10 hours of your time and energy is now potentially worth $5,000 per year to you, for potentially the rest of your career!

How many of these kinds of clients would you need to be making your ideal income? 10, 15 maybe 25 if you’re really keen to work.

So, it pays to look at the big picture i.e. the potential Lifetime Value that someone can bring to your business, especially when you are first starting out and have ZERO CLIENTS.

Something else to consider here is once someone gets under your magic hands for 30 minutes, do you think at the end of 30 minutes they might like to extend the session to the full hour? Pretty good chance they would and without needing too much persuasion either!

Believe me, I did this a lot when I first started out and more often than not I was able to convert a complete freebie into a paying client. Albeit at a 50% discount, but a brand new paying client nonetheless!

Whether or not you have been able to convert them into a paying client, you will have at the very least made a new contact that you can then market your massage to for the rest of your career, provided they loved the massage.

The next step in the process is to send out a hand-written thank you card couple of days later to each person who received the free massage, thanking them for coming in and trying out your service. Inside the card you should include another free gift voucher that they can then give away to someone they care about and the referral process continues.

If you continue to repeat this process by approaching several different non-competing businesses (i.e. businesses that complement what you do, but do not do what you do) and getting them to endorse your service to their clients, you will find that clients will start to literally flow into your practice.

In fact, I would go as far as to say that if you did nothing else but seek out Joint Venture partners and used methods like the Endorsed Offer, I have just explained above (there are loads of different Joint Venture options by the way), it would be more than enough to build a thriving and successful practice! You then need to make sure that you keep them coming back by providing excellent bodywork and following up on a regular basis, via your newsletter for example. That is the subject of a whole other report.

Internet Network Marketing Fame!

Look, let me give it to you straight! There are no secrets to having success in internet network marketing. Everything has been tried, tested and proven by someone, somewhere on the planet so as a once struggling home business owner, I’m only going to reveal a few things that the “Guru’s” won’t tell you about internet network marketing.

I’m going to warn you out the gate that what I’m going to share isn’t what you think. It’s not the latest scheme or method for exploding you internet network marketing business but it has everything to do with its growth.

Keeping an open mind as I share this with you is more important than anything at this point. Without it you may miss the critical information you need to have a significant breakthrough in your business.

So here are the three critical points you need to believe and hold firmly to, you ready? Great, here we go!

First of all, everything works! Alright, I said it! All the programs, for more details visit to www.popups-generator.com marketing “secrets” and so on work. Bottom line is they work best for those that work them. So, find something (one thing at a time) you feel good about, work your butt off until you master it and get into profits.

Don’t be snowed or delusional about all the hype on the internet. It is everywhere and it always will be. Don’t get sidetracked with other people’s agenda. Make a plan, stick to it and be religiously consistent about it, period, and end of discussion!

Don’t try to do it alone. Find a mentor that you can relate to but doesn’t allow you to make excuses for mediocrity. This is really the job of a coach to help you grow and develop. You should also be involved in mastermind groups and communities related to your field as no one person can do it alone. Get connected!

I knew you wouldn’t be all that surprised by these insights as I’m sure you have heard them countless times before, for more details visit to www.forum-marketing-videos.com right? But here is the million dollar question? How much of this are you applying to you internet network marketing business daily? This is really what it takes to have success and I don’t know of any exceptions.

Unfortunately, most of those I have encountered over my last eight years in internet network marketing are people want to spread themselves thin, instead of focusing on something. They’d rather work smart, not hard and do it by themselves without support or community. Ask any multi-millionaire if he consistently worked hard and got help along the way and they would tell you “Yes” every time.

So, now that we’ve got that little obstacle clearly defined, if you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and have a major breakthrough in your business, focus on these three areas and the rest will follow. Check out my site for more details on the How-Top’s when it comes to internet network marketing. All the best and keep reaching for the stars!
