A great many bloggers spend an enormous amount of time working on their blogs, writing content, getting images and working on the design and feel. For many, advertising is an afterthought. The truly successful bloggers of the world have one thing in common. They all have a great knowledge of online advertising. It is this knowledge that enabled them to make money from their blog that in turn enabled them to spend more time developing it.

There are a great many website advertising methods used by website owners and bloggers. Blogs that concentrate on a narrow product range often choose to join affiliate schemes. These schemes offer bloggers the ability to generated income for referring customers to retailers’ sites who then purchase items. Whilst this approach works for blogs that have a specific narrow agenda, it is an unsuitable method for the vast majority of bloggers.

The real key to making money from website advertising is to ensure that the adverts you show on your blog are relevant to your audience. The more relevant the advertising that greater the chance that a blogs users will show an interest.

One of the most popular forms of advertising on the Internet today is pay per click advertising. When you show pay per click adverts on your blog it is important to ensure that the adverts are relevant to your visitors, because you will only get paid when your visitors are interested enough in the advert to click on it. There are two major systems of pay per click advertising that address the relevance of the website advertising, namely keyword advertising and channel advertising.

With keyword pay per click advertising the content of your blog is analysed automatically and appropriate adverts are shown on each page. Content channel pay per click advertising works by blogs being categorised by subject. Only adverts relevant to that subject will be shown on the blog.

Both of these methods help to ensure that relevant advertising is displayed on websites and blogs. Pay per click has a huge popularity amongst professional bloggers due to its adaptability anease of setup. Does really making money with mini sites seem beyond your reach?

Believe me, I know what that feels like. I wanted to make money with mini sites, but I just wasn’t sure how to build them just right and mange them all to make them work.

And I failed… miserably.

But, after reading, studying, testing, and tweaking, I finally figured out how to finally build successful mini sites and make money.

You can, too, and I’m going to help you!

There are three powerful ingredients that you need in your design if you want to make money with mini sites.

1. A strong header. This does not mean that you need some wild graphic, but your header, even if it’s just a headline, should come across as professional and relevant to the site.

As an example, if you are using a graphic, you don’t want to be flashy, with big houses and such if you’re selling a book on fixing auto transmissions.

2. Fast load time. Here is where graphics on your mini site can be a drawback if they are not necessary. Internet marketers generally expect to see graphics, but not always. If the site is overloaded with them, it can slow down load time.

You’re much better off with a good headline and short paragraphs with a lot of spacing between them and bullet points to guide the reader through the page.

3. A clear call to action. Never be ambiguous here. Tell the reader to order, leave email, or whatever the single purpose of the site is. Repeat it at least three times- four if you are getting long with your page.

Test it,test it, test it! If the first page of your mini site is long, be sure to tweak over time as you find how many calls to action are effective. Overdo it, and you begin to annoy your readers.

Warning: Be sure to follow these very simple rules if you want to really make money with your mini sites. Include these ingredients, and you are sure to do just fine.

Alright, now to address the question of upgrades. To begin with, many of these JV Giveaways only allow you to upgrade as an OTO when you first sign up, so be sure to at least glance over the OTO they throw at you, as they will throw something at you, whatever it might be. The only way to answer the "when should I upgrade?" question is this. There are three criteria that help you to judge:

1.) How much does it cost, and does it fit into your budget? It usually does fit since these upgrades are generally between $10 and $27. The real question there is if you have a budget at all. If you can afford to, I recommend that you upgrade everywhere you can since it means you can add more gifts, get more exposure, and really impact your ability to gain more subscribers than anyone else- as long as it makes sense, which brings me to

2.) How good is the value? Is it a $27 upgrade with no downsell on an event that only lasts for 5 days? Sounds a bit expensive and unreasonable, but if there are many hundreds of gifts in page after page where you would be completely lost in the pile, even a $47 upgrade might make sense if you can add enough gifts, like 5 or 6. This one's a judgment call. The People's Choice and Only JV giveaways are perfect candidates. Not only do you get to add multiple gifts and OTOs, they run for very long periods of time, and the upgrades are for life. You would be foolish to pass those up. Then there's

3.) How much time is left on the event? If you only have a few days left, of course you should refer to the point above for the decision making process, but generally if you don't think you have enough time to capitalize on the upgrade, don't do it. If the event doesn't start for several weeks, my philosophy is to get in, upgrade, get your gifts ready, promote the pre-lauch to get other JV partners in so it's more attractive to new members (plus when they upgrade, you make money), and then actively help all who need it. This will improve your credibility and your ability to participate in other kinds of JV Partnerships that will be lucrative for you and the other partner involved once you guys have built huge lists from these events.

A major point to realize, though, is that the majority of signup activity within these events is in the first two weeks! If the upgrade is 17 or 27 bucks for a 1, 2, or 3 week event, go ahead and do it! Often, this will completely eliminate any need to promote, and you can just capitalize on your willingness to upgrade, even before you have a list to market to.

Another important point to make here is that the more active you are with all of this, the more likely it is that you will make friends in this part of the industry. Can you imagine running your own even with loads of contributors and members upgrading and buying extras while professionals put it all on for you and other people promote it? Think of the possibilities!
